OUR APPROACH IN DETAIL
The Creativity Fan Framework
The Creativity Fan Framework is a product of 40+ years of research and classroom-tested mindsets, toolsets, and skillsets that make creativity tangible and teachable. When you focus on the teacher Seven Instructional Goal Areas (the 7 P’s) in your classroom, you’ll free your students’ creativity. And your own.
- Person Goal – Recognize and encourage in all students the traits and behaviors associated with highly creative people.
- Process Goal – Teach creative thinking developmentally, using mindsets, toolsets, and skillsets, just like you would other subjects.
- Product Goal – Guide students to create visual and verbal products using an incremental process that encourages experimentation.
- Press Goal – Shape students’ mental and emotional internal environments, as well as their physical and social external environments, to foster creativity.
- Perception Goal – Increase students’ mental flexibility by exposing them to diverse visual and verbal perspectives. Enhance their ability to solve problems and create new designs.
- Persistence Goal – Increase student’s task commitment by mentoring them through the cyclic creative process of success and failure. Emphasize practice and effort over perfection.
- Passion Goal – Provide students with numerous opportunities to discover their strengths and interests through exploring their multiple intelligences, or what we call, multibilities.
Woven throughout the Creativity Fan Framework are Curiosita’s Four Instructional Elements of Creativity based on standard definitions of creative thinking used in psychology studies and pedagogy.
Fluency – Generating a large quantity of ideas.
Flexibility – Creating a wide range of ideas in multiple categories.
Originality – Producing unique ideas.
Elaboration – Adding detail to enrich, refine, or embellish ideas.

Integrating creativity into ALL teaching and learning leads to students’ personal and professional happiness and success!

Creativity is a central source of meaning in our lives . . . most of the things that are interesting, important, and human are the results of creativity . . . when we are involved in it, we feel that we are living more fully than during the rest of life.
