TEACH YOUR STUDENTS CREATIVE SKILLS FOR THE FUTURE. NOW.

Evidence-based online professional learning experiences that equip educational leaders to innovate their existing curriculum

The possibility is here.

You care about your students. You know their futures depend on learning how to be agile problem-solvers with creative ideas, but maybe you feel confined by standards and test prep requirements, or adrift among all of the progressive approaches to 21st century learning.

Perhaps you too have been pondering: How can we prepare our youth to be agile problem-solvers in times that demand we embrace uncertainty and face challenges with creative strategy and innovation?

That’s why we developed Creativity-Based Learning courses built on our Creativity Fan Framework.

We equip visionary educational leaders like you with mindsets, toolsets, and skillsets to fuel your students’ curiosity and confidence in their own creative thinking. And guess what? It makes teaching and learning fun again.

Our evidence-based strategies, tools, courses, and professional learning experiences will catalyze every student’s inventiveness, ingenuity, and imagination—for a lifetime.

OUR APPROACH

The Creativity-Based Learning Series

The four-course Creativity-Based Learning Series will free your students’ creativity with evidence-based, classroom-tested mindsets, toolsets, and skillsets you can integrate into what you’re already teaching. A self-paced online professional learning experience, the Creativity-Based Learning Series will give you instructional tools and curricular framework to enhance Project-Based, Problem-Based, and Inquiry-Based Learning in your classroom.

Teachers, Not Your Same Old Professional Development

We (Rick and Patti) guide you through each course. We know how tedious some professional learning experiences can be, so we’ve designed all the courses to be interactive and gamified. Every lesson encourages active learning, social learning, self-discovery, and higher-order thinking.

Credentials

Upon finishing each course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion that includes the professional learning hours fulfilled and a micro-credential badge. Graduate credit is available as well.

Educational Administrators, a Dashboard for Success

We provide a dashboard to view real-time data about teachers’ progress and engagement. You’ll have the ability to strategically plan for group discussion and insight sharing to promote the development of a dynamic learning community. You’ll also be able to observe real-time change as your teachers learn, practice in their classrooms, and re-learn as needed before advancing to the next level.

OUR APPROACH IN DETAIL

The Creativity Fan Framework

The Creativity Fan Framework is a product of 40+ years of research and classroom-tested mindsets, toolsets, and skillsets that make creativity tangible and teachable. When you focus on the Framework’s seven components (the 7 P’s) in your classroom, you’ll free your students’ creativity—and your own.

  1. Person – Recognize and encourage in all students the traits and behaviors associated with highly creative people.
  2. Process – Teach creative thinking developmentally, using mindsets, toolsets, and skillsets, just like you would other subjects.
  3. Product – Guide students to create visual and verbal products using an incremental process that encourages experimentation.
  4. Press – Shape students’ mental and emotional internal environments, as well as their physical and social external environments, to foster creativity.
  5. Perception – Increase students’ mental flexibility by exposing them to diverse visual and verbal perspectives. Enhance their ability to solve problems and create new designs.
  6. Persistence – Increase student’s task commitment by mentoring them through the cyclic creative process of success and failure. Emphasize practice and effort over perfection.
  7. Passion – Provide students with numerous opportunities to discover their strengths and interests through exploring their multiple intelligences, or what we call, multibilities.

Woven throughout the Creativity Fan Framework are Curiosita’s Four Instructional Elements of Creativity based on standard definitions of creative thinking used in psychology studies and pedagogy.

Fluency – Generating a large quantity of ideas.
Flexibility – Creating a wide range of ideas in multiple categories.
Originality – Producing unique ideas.
Elaboration – Adding detail to enrich, refine, or embellish ideas.
